PM announces to hold general election on 15th July next year

KOHAT, DEC 16 (DNA): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that general elections will be held in the country on 15th July next year.

Addressing a public meeting in Kohat Saturday evening, the Prime Minister said the PML-N will win the elections on the basis of its performance.

Referring to the terrorist attack on Army Public School Peshawar, the Prime Minister said that the security forces launched operation against the terrorists after this tragic incident and restored peace in the country.

He said the process of introducing reforms in FATA was initiated by the PML-N government and it will complete the same. He said various development projects have been initiated in tribal areas to create job opportunities and promote education.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the federal government has released funds for various development projects in Kohat, including the supply of natural gas and construction of a stadium.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said ninety-five percent TDPs of FATA have returned to their homes.

The public meeting was also addressed by Advisor to the Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam.

Earlier, addressing a function held in connection with the foundation laying ceremony of Women Campus of Kohat University of Science and Technology in Kohat on Saturday afternoon, the Prime Minister said the government is paying full attention to the promotion of higher education in the country.

He said we can defeat extremism and terrorism by educating our youth. The Prime Minister said education has been delegated to provinces after the passage of 18th constitutional amendment.

Despite this, the federal government is extending all out efforts to federating units for enhancing educational facilities.

The Women Campus of Kohat University of Science and Technology will be completed at a cost of about one billion rupees in three years.

Initially, classes in three disciplines, including zoology, computer science and English, have been started in a local girls college.

Earlier, the Prime Minister also performed ground-breaking of dualization of one hundred twenty-eight kilometers Sarai Gambila-Kohat Road and seventy-three kilometers Pindigheb-Kohat road, in Kohat.
