PM Abbasi to raise Kashmir, Rohingya issues in UN General Assembly
NEW YORK, SEPT 18 (DNA) – Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi has said that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will raise the issues of Kashmir and Rohingya Muslims in his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Maleeha Lodhi told that the premier will speak in the session on September 21. The 72nd Regular Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 72) convened at UN Headquarters on September 12, while the general debate will be held from Tuesday, September 19, to Friday, September 22.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry informed that PM Abbasi wil meet US Vice President Mike Pence on America’s wish. Both leaders will discuss issues of Afghanistan, Kashmir, and genocide of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
On the sidelines of the General Assembly Session, the prime minister will hold bilateral meetings with a number of world leaders and the Secretary General of the United Nations.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will address the Council on Foreign Relations and will interact with the US Pakistan Business Council. The premier will also have extensive interaction with the international media.
