PM Abbasi to lay foundation stone for construction of Overhead Bridge in Shahdara
ISLAMABAD, MAY 25 (DNA) – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will lay the foundation stone for the construction of 6-lane Overhead Bridge at Imamia Colony Railway Crossing Shahdara today.
The project starts from the Shahdara and ends approximately 4.4 km South of Kala Shah Kaku Interchange. Total length of the project is 1.7 km and it consists of construction of Railway Overhead Bridge, approach ramps, service roads and 02 pedestrian Crossing Bridges. The bridge will facilitate an uninterrupted flow of traffic on G.T. Road (N-5) at Imamia Colony near Shahdara and will eliminate the existing congestion and delays. It will also provide an alternate route to the traffic to be emanated from Shahdara and heading to Lahore. The fast and direct route will save travel time and fuel consumption and ensure enhanced safety for road traffic as well as train operations.
