PARC to identify innovation in agricultural digitization

ISLAMABAD, MAY 28 (DNA) – Use of digitization and innovation to benefit sustainable agricultural production (agriculture, livestock and aquaculture) increase food and nutrition security and increase family farmers’ access to market through the development of tech-based solutions, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, PARC has joined hands with Ignite-National Technology Fund.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at PARC headquarters today on 28th May, 2021. The Secretary (Council), PARC Mr. Roshan Zada and CEO, Ignite-National Technology Fund

Mr. Asim Shahryar were the signatories on behalf of their respective organizations. Federal Secretary for IT & Telecom, M/o IT & Telecom, Islamabad, Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan, Chairman PARC, Dr. Shahid Hameed, Member (Coordination & Monitoring) PARC and other high officials from both sides were also participants of the ceremony.

Taking about importance of digitization of agriculture Chairman PARC, Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan says, “The world is moving towards a digital economy, significance of which has been increased by the pandemic. In such situations, technological agricultural systems are the need of the hour, which will booster the growing agricultural sector. Under this agreement, PARC and Ignite-National Technology Fund, will work together for the development and commercialization of innovative technology”.

PARC and Ignite-National Technology Fund will identify the ICT solutions for the existing issues of agriculture sector by establishing National Incubation Centre and Centre of Excellence in areas of food security and research.=DNA
