Panama Leaks case: JIT reviews Sharif family’s tax returns, other record
ISLAMABAD, JUL 01 (DNA) – Joint Investigation Team (JIT), constituted to probe Panama Leaks case, has met today at Federal Judicial Academy.
According to the details, the team is reviewing tax returns and other documents related to the businesses of Sharif family. The members are also collecting the evidence for the preparation of the final report that is to be submitted in Supreme Court (SC) on July 10.
During the proceeding, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) submitted reply to JIT over missing documents, stating that no record is available during the abroad stay of Sharif family and Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar.
It further said that the data was misplaced while transferring it from circle base to functional base.
On the other hand, the team has summoned Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s cousin Tariq Shafi on Sunday whereas his children Hassan Nawaz will appear before JIT on July 3, Hussain on July 4 and Maryam Nawaz on July 5.
Earlier, five Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan’s (SECP) officials and its chairman Zafar Hijazi appeared before the JIT. The representatives presented record of Sharif family’s companies including Chaudhry Sugar Mills.=DNA
