Pakistani Flavors shine at Dragon Boat Fest Celebration
BEIJING, JUN 3 (DNA): In a vibrant display of cultural exchange, Pakistani students showcased their rich culinary traditions at a Dragon Boat Festival event organized by a local community in Nanjing.
The celebration brought together international students from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Singapore, Cameroon and Nigeria alongside Chinese students and residents to foster friendship through food, crafts and festive activities, Gwadar Pro reported on Tuesday.
Seven talented Pakistani students participated in the event and three of them took the lead in preparing the beloved dishes.
Haider Alam, a student of Nanjing University of Technology, cooked a fragrant Chicken Masala Curry while Khan Kashif and Zaid from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, served a crisp, golden samosas-both were appreciated by the attendees.
“Both are delicious packages holding special meanings – samosas contain spiced potatoes, zongzi contain sweet rice, but both contain cultural pride,” said Kashif.
“It was amazing to see people from different countries enjoying our food and asking about Pakistani culture. Through our dishes, we wanted to give everyone a taste of Pakistan’s warmth and hospitality.”
