Pakistani culture shines at Canadian Asian Heritage Month event
OTTAWA, MAY 8 /DNA/ – The High Commission participated in the “Pakistan” event organized by Hon. Senator Salma Attaullahjan in the Senators Chamber, Senate of Canada building, in Ottawa on May 6, 2026 as part of the month-long “Asian Heritage Month” celebrations in Canada.
Around 80 guests including Hon’ble Senators, Hon’ble Members of House of Commons, other Canadian dignitaries, representatives of diplomatic corps, Pakistani community and local media attended the special event. The High Commission presented publicity material and video-clip highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, art, tourism, adventure sports and cuisine.
High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem extended gratitude to Hon. Senator Salma Attaullahjan for organizing the “Pakistan” event in the most prestigious premises of the Senate of Canada. He sought inter-parliamentary exchanges between the bicameral Parliaments of Pakistan and Canada through the existing Parliamentary Friendship Groups. He also highlighted the immense opportunities for increasing Pakistan-Canada economic, trade, investment and tourism ties for mutual benefit.
