Pakistan to observe Earth Hour tonight
LAHORE, MAR 24 (DNA) – Earth Hour will be observed in Pakistan tonight from 8:30pm to 9:30pm by switching off all unnecessary light for one hour.
Earth Hour Movement is an effort for protecting a healthy environment and to conserve energy.
All businesses and landmarks in the country will switch off non-essential lights for an hour and observe Earth Hour in an effort to advocate action for climate change.
Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Khan Sanjrani in his message on this occasion said through these small steps we can demonstrate our resolve to work towards conservation of environment.
Various countries of the world will also turn off the lights of significant buildings for an hour to express their love for the Earth.
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) launched the Earth Hour in 2007 as an effort to show global commitment to the planet. requesting the people to switch off their lights at the end of March for an hour.
