Pakistan keen to expand relations with Belarus: minister

ISLAMABAD, JUL 02 (DNA) – State Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar has said Pakistan enjoys excellent relations with Belarus adding there are adequate grounds available to further strengthen and intensify this cooperation.

The minister expressed views while speaking on the occasion of independence of Belarus.

He further said Pakistan offered great opportunities to foreign investors and encouraged businessmen from Belarus to come to Pakistan and explore various investment avenues.

Hammad further said Pakistan government had ensured ease of doing business with a view to facilitating foreign investment adding the PTI government was committed to improve country’s exports and woo more and more foreign companies.

“I believe the rich history which we have built with Belarus in last 25 years and recent meeting of Prime Minister Imran Khan with the leadership of Belarus as the SCO heads of states meeting has seeks to set strong basis for future enhanced cooperation”.

The minister said government will also encourage local entrepreneurs in their efforts to find business markets in Belarus. He said this would for sure increase bilateral trade and economic ties.

The ambassador of Belarus in his speech said since 1945 Belarus has been a full fledge member of the United Nations and one of its founding states. “Our nation has developed its foreign policy under difficult conditions of drastic geo- political and economic transformations in the world. Belarus is a state that peruses an independence and peaceful foreign policy”.

Belarus has developed strategic ties with allies, neighbors and foreign partners all over the world including Russia, Ukraine, Poland and other EU countries. Likewise, Belarus also accords due importance to its relations with Central Asian states and Azerbaijan.

Ambassador said Belaurs is an export oriented country. It’s economic potential in the fields of petro chemical, industry, agriculture and machinery allows to cooperation full with many countries and Pakistan is not an exception.

Belarus and Pakistan have managed to set every condition for the full scale development of the bilateral cooperation. It is about time to use this new chances, opportunities and challenges to further build this bilateral relationship. =DNA
