Pakistan holds capacity to produce electricity from solar energy more than India
ISLAMABAD, JUN 12 (DPakistan has the capacity to produce 2.324 million megawatts (MW) electricity annually through solar energy and Photovoltaic (PV) system.
Due to its geographic location, Pakistan can generate more electricity from solar energy than other countries of the world including India, Germany, Spain and China.
It has been reported that Pakistan can make 1,920 kilowatts per meter squared per hour (kWh/m2) electricity from sunlight. Researcher Munawar Hasan has said in his report that Pakistan can produce one third electricity more than Germany through solar energy.
He said that solar energy can not only overcome the power shortfall in the country, but can also provide electricity to people at lower cost which will ensure the progress of national economy.
