Pakistan and China to jointly counter conspiracies against CPEC, says minister
ISLAMABAD, SEPT 16 (DNA) – Federal Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an emblem of historic ties between the two countries and they will jointly foil conspiracies against the project.
He was talking to Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Sun Weidong who called on him at the Ministry of Interior.
Iqbal said Pak-China relations are based on mutual goodwill and long-term cooperation in economic and defence sectors.
During the meeting, it was decided to impart training to the law enforcement agencies on modern to make them capable of tackling any threats to the security of the project.
Iqbal said Balochistan has great significance in CPEC project and it has been divided into northern and southern zones due to security reasons.
The Chinese ambassador expressed satisfaction over the security of Chinese citizens working on CPEC related projects in Pakistan.
