Opposition rejects new budget in Punjab Assembly
LAHORE (DNA) – The members of opposition staged a protest against the new budget by chanting slogans, tearing its copies and declaring it public-enemy budget in the Punjab Assembly today (June 14).
The opposition stood up as soon as the provincial Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht’s budget speech started. Due to the slogan and protest of the opposition, uproar in the House remained on the rise.
FM Hashim kept delivering his speech while the opposition kept chanting the slogans simultaneously.
The opposition expressed that the new budget is just an entanglement of words. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTO) led-government has destroyed the province economically, they added.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) expressed dissatisfaction over the new budget.
The session was adjourned till 3pm after the completion of Hashim Jawan’s speech due to ruckus caused by the opposition in the House.
