Opposition agrees to hold rally outside Red Zone for Azadi March: Sources
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – The government’s negotiation committee on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) Azadi March once again restored talks with Rehbar Committee of opposition to discuss the protest.
As per details, Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak, head of government’s committee, held a telephonic conversation with head of opposition’s Rehbar Committee Akram Durrani.
Pervaiz Khattak told Durrani that government will not object to the March if opposition backtracks from holding protest at Red Zone. Khattak said opposition can hold rally anywhere outside Red Zone.
Sources said opposition is thinking to hold rally at Kashmir Highway instead of China Ckowk.
Sources further said the final decision in this regard would be taken by Rehbar Committee.
It is worth mentioning here that the government’s negotiation team and the Rahber Committee had met in Islamabad on Friday and hit a deadlock. Both parties stated that they could not reach any final decision and announced that the dialogues will continue.
Defence Minister and committee head Pervez Khattak will brief Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the session that was held with the opposition’s Rahber Committee.
