Opponents of electoral reforms are becoming supporters of rigging: Governor Sarwar
LAHORE , May 5 : Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar Wednesday said the opponents of electoral reforms are becoming supporters of rigging. He said transparent elections will strengthen democracy and parliament.
Member National Assembly (MNA) Sadaqat Ali Abbasi called on the Punjab governor. Chaudhry Sarwar said it is the incumbent government’s historic step to give the right to vote to the overseas Pakistanis.
Chaudhry Sarwar urged the opposition to end its egoistic and stubborn attitude and sit together with the government for electoral reforms. He said the government wants transparent polls so that no one could raise objection over results.
Election results will come within minutes by e-polling, he said while adding that the opposition’s politics of negating every matter is anti-democratic. Projects of the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority were also discussed in the meeting.
