Nisar urges opposition to avoid politics over Panama Papers

ISLAMABAD, April 09 (DNA): Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has urged the opposition parties not to indulge in political brawl or allegations over the issue of Panama disclosures.Talking to media at Kallar Syedan in Rawalpindi on Saturday, he urged the opposition parties to cooperate with the government if they are sincere to unveil the truth from the whole matter.

The Minister clarified that the leaks do not only contain the names of the family members of the prime minister but also that of the opposition leaders including that of his predecessor.

Chaudhry Nisar said the government wants to constitute a fully empowered commission and for this purpose, also contacted two former Chief Justices of Pakistan.

Ch Nisar pointed out that most of the countries including Russia totally overlooked the leaks but the Prime Minister personally took notice of it and announced the formation of a commission.

To a question about the demand of Imran Khan for the investigation of the Panama leaks from the FIA, he said he is ready for the same but for this the PTI chairman will have to provide the names of the officers he wants to get the matter investigated.

To another question, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said it has been decided not to allow any public gathering in the federal capital for the time being including at D-Chowk and F-9 Park.

The Minister said civilian and military leadership as well as all the political parties are on the same page to defeat the designs of the enemies against Pakistan. DNA
