Never did corruption, PM reaffirms after Panama JIT report in SC
ISLAMABAD, JUL 10 (DNA) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired an important meeting after Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT) submitted their final report in Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday.
The premier reaffirmed that neither he nor his family ever participated in corrupt practices, adding that all documents required by the JIT were handed over.
“I and (Sharif) family never did any corruption and our hands are clean. All documents required by the JIT were handed over,” he issued the statement.
Members of the federal cabinet and experts of law and constitution attended the meeting in which they discussed the ongoing political pressure faced by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N-). They also held mutual consultation on the future strategy for next hearing in the Supreme Court which will commence from July 17 by Panama implementation bench.
Sources told the premier maintained neither he neither did any corruption nor supported such practices. He was briefed that both his sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz cannot be charged with tax evasion because they never held public office and spent most of their time living abroad.
It should be noted that the PML-N will challenge JIT report before July 17 hearing, according to sources.
