Nehal Hashmi stirs up controversy with fresh salvo at state institutions
LAHORE: (DNA) – Reacting to a fresh fiery speech of ex-party member Nehal Hashmi criticising state institutions, senior leader of PML-N, Rana Sanaullah, says the statement given by Hashmi could be in his personal capacity and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has nothing to do with it.
Hashmi, a sacked member of the PML-N, surprised several quarters after he stated at a gathering today that the armed forces of the country couldn’t reclaim an inch of land. He stirred up a hornet’s nest when he went on to say that an atom bomb and F-16s were just for show-offs.
In his remarks, Sanaullah said the domain of Pak Army was to protect the country, rather than reclaiming someone’s land. ‘An unfortunate event took place in Bangladesh which was triggered by political fallout, he added.
He stated that how could the party take action when party membership of Hashmi had already been suspended. He recalled that the party leader was sacked after he had refused to leave his senatorship after those controversial remarks targeting the judiciary.
