Nawaz ‘should not, must not’ appear before NAB court: Maryam Nawaz
LAHORE, SEPT 19 (DNA) – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter and campaign leader of NA-120 by-poll Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that Nawaz Sharif should not appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court. She also called that process of accountability a way to personally and politically victimize Nawaz Sharif.
Maryam Nawaz, who led the election campaign of her mother during NA-120 by-poll, said that certain elements are trying target Nawaz Sharif personally and politically. “In the garb of accountability, Nawaz Sharif is being politically and personally victimized,” Maryam said. She called the accountabilty procedure a farce .
She said that the whole family presented itself before the Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) although it had several reservations over the formation of JIT. She emphasized that Nawaz Sharif should not and must not appear before the accountability court.
Earlier on Sunday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz s (PML-N) candidate Kulsoom Nawaz won the NA-120 by-election. While addressing party workers after a historic victory, Maryam delivered an explosive speech. She said that people of NA-120 have defeated those who can seen and also those who cannot be seen.
