Navy chief stresses tech edge against emerging maritime threats
ISLAMABAD, AUG 19 /DNA/ – The Command and Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy concluded at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. The conference was chaired by Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf and attended by Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders.
The forum deliberated extensively on the evolving maritime security landscape — from traditional and non-traditional threats to volatility at strategic choke points and risks to freedom of navigation and vital SLOCs.
CNS Admiral Naveed Ashraf commended Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and enhanced capacity to undertake all challenging missions. He underscored the need for effective training, tactical discipline, and joint coordination to ensure robust maritime defence. He also stressed that asymmetric capabilities and advanced technologies are essential to retain a tactical edge against emerging threats.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf further underscored Pakistan Navy’s pivotal role in ensuring peace, stability and regional maritime security. The forum undertook a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives and upcoming events.
The Command and Staff Conference is the apex decision-making forum of Pakistan Navy where Chief of the Naval Staff, Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders deliberate on strategic priorities and policies.
