Naveed says no ambiguity regarding completion of Karachi opt

KARACHI, 04 FEB (DNA) – Karachi Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar on Thursday clearly said that there is no ambiguity regarding completion of ongoing targeted operation in the city.
Addressing the 744th Passing out Parade at Training Center and School, Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar reiterated that Sindh Rangers played central role in restoring peace in Karachi. Rangers would continue to play affective role to ensure protection of people of the province, he said.
Naveed Mukhtar further stated that targets in Karachi operation are free from the ‘barrier of pace.’ The operation is completely apolitical, indiscriminate and free from any compromise or pressure. We will have to work together to achieve success in this operation, he said.
He said that basic aim of this operation is to create an atmosphere for the masses that is free from any kind of fear, there is supremacy of law and people follow the law and order. On the occasion, the Corps Commander also lauded the efforts and sacrifices of paramilitary Rangers.
A major military operation, launched in 2013, is credited with slashing Karachi‘s murder and kidnapping rates. But the clampdown has drawn protests from opposition politicians who say their party members have been targeted. DNA
