National day of Oman celebrated
ISLAMABAD, NOV 22 (DNA) – Ambassador of Oman Sheikh Mohamed Al-Markhoon hosted a reception to celebrate 48th national day of Oman.
Federal Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal was the chief guest.
The venue was decorated with colorful Oman and Pakistan flags. Contrary to the normal practice only two chairs were placed at the stage for the host and the chief guest.
As per normal tradition, all ambassadors of the respective region are called up to share stage with the chief guest and the host however the Oman reception was an exception.
The host and the chief guest chose not to make any speeches – a step that was widely hailed by the guest present on the occasion because nobody listens to speeches on such occasions.
The hallmark of the event was huge presence of people from Baluchistan, attired in traditional Baluchi dresses.
The guests were served with a variety of Pakistani and Arabian dishes.=DNA
