Nankana Sahib visit: PM Imran lays foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak University
AHORE (DNA News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday has laid foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak University in Nankana Sahib.
Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Usman Buzdar told that Rs6 billion will be utilized on the construction of the university that will be completed in three phases. He also announced to build eight universities in the province.
The CM told that health cards have been introduced in Nankana Sahib for the relief of the general masses whereas work is also in progress on other development projects.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said laying foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak University at Nankana Sahib is apt tribute on occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Members of Sikh community will be able to get education at this university, he added.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq took to her Twitter account and posted that PM Imran has fulfilled his another promise made with Sikh community by performing groundbreaking of Baba Guru Nanak University.
The seed of interfaith harmony sown by the premier in the form of Kartarpur Corridor would become a shadowy tree of tolerance for followers of different religions, she said.
