NAB files references against 118 including KMC officials
KARACHI, FEB 24, (DNA) -National Accountability Bureau (NAB) took action against illegal distribution of land in Karachi. It filed references on Friday against 118 suspects which include officials belonging to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
The alleged criminals include former commissioner of Karachi as well as KMC officers. The TransparencyInternational had earlier complained about the irregularities in 2012.
According to the sources, KMC officials in land department deviated from the code and conduct and issued 293 leases for land allotment. The national treasure suffered a huge loss of Rs 1.26 Billion due to the matter.
Those accused in KMC land department include Saif Abbas, Sohail Yar Khan, Saba Islam, Mohsin Mashkoor and others.
