NAB recovers gold coins, jewelry, foreign currency from former DG Parks’
ISLAMABAD, SEPT 20 (DNA) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi conducted raid at the residence of former parks director general Liaquat Qaimkhani in Karachi in fake accounts case and recovered details of illegal assets.
Gold coins, jewelry and foreign currency were recovered when NAB Rawalpindi opened a locker from the Liaquat Qaimkhani’s basement. He voluntarily took out five sets of gold jewelry, gold coins and currency and handed it over to NAB Rawalpindi.
According to NAB, one more locker has still yet to be opened. The former DG Parks will be brought to Islamabad tonight and a physical remand will be sought by presenting him beforethe accountability court on Saturday.
On Sept. 19, according to the anti-corruption watchdog sources, files of twenty plots worth billions of rupees, eight luxury vehicles, latest weapons, gold jewelry and foreign currency including dollars, riyals and dirhams have been seized from the suspect’s home.
It has further been learnt that the details of goods confiscated from Liaquat Ali’s house consist of eight pages, and the accused had identified the belongings himself. Let it be known that Liaquat Ali is prime suspect in illegal allotments of Bagh Ibne Qasim. =DNA
