Muhammad Bilal wins Asian Tour 10 Reds Snooker Championship
KARACHI: (DNA) – Pakistan’s Mohammad Bilal outclassed Brendan O’ Donghue of Ireland by 6-1 frames in the inaugural edition of Asian Tour 10 reds snooker championship.
It was Bilal’s first international snooker tournament where he claimed the victory by allowing his opponent to win just one frame.
The 33-year-old dominated the first frame 46-42 with a break of 46, Bilal only lost the second frame 36-48, but then the Irish opponent didn’t get a chance to bounce back.
Bilal also bagged USD 12,000 winner’s cheque and a glittering trophy.
On his maiden victory, Bilal said, “I was playing with a lot of focus, and I could just see where the balls were going. So all thanks to God, it all went the way I had thought.”
Pakistan won the Asian team championship comprising three players in the tour: Haris Tahir, Mohammad Bilal and Babar Masih.
Earlier, Pakistan bagged four medals in Doha at the Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship.
