Motorway Police provided assistance to over 179,000 travellers in August
ISLAMABAD, Sep 14: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) provided timely assistance to more than 179,000 travellers during August 2026.
According to the spokesperson, the Motorway Police also recovered gold ornaments worth Rs1.6 million and valuable mobile phones worth Rs2.146 million and handed them over to their rightful owners.
To promote road safety and awareness about traffic laws, 280 awareness programmes were organized across the country during the month, he added.
More than 3.036 million citizens were also sensitized about traffic rules at various toll plazas, the spokesperson said.
The Motorway Police also safely reunited 19 missing children with their parents during August.
The NH&MP foiled 11 criminal incidents on national highways, arrested 12 suspects and handed them over to the relevant law-enforcement agencies for further legal action.
The spokesperson further said that 300 kilograms of unhygienic meat was recovered and the accused involved in the case were arrested.
