Mohsin Naqvi meets Iranian envoy

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with Iranian Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam on Monday to discuss arrangements for the second round of US-Iran peace talks in Islamabad.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the need to use diplomatic and negotiation channels to reduce tensions and find a durable solution to the current crisis. Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the Iranian ambassador about his recent visit to Iran and Pakistan’s efforts to de-escalate the situation.
The Iranian Ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in lowering tensions between Iran and the United States. Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that all preparations for the second round of negotiations in Islamabad have been completed and fool-proof security arrangements have been made for the foreign delegations. Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad were also present on the occasion.
Mohsin Naqvi reiterated that Pakistan-Iran relations span decades and are based on deep brotherly ties, which Pakistan greatly values. He added that Pakistan strongly supports the resolution of the US-Iran dispute through peaceful negotiations.
“A lasting solution to this conflict is essential for the stability and peace of the entire region,” the Interior Minister stated.
