Mohammad Azam Khan appointed Principal Secretary to PM Imran Khan
ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – –Imran Khan has appointed Former Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Mohammad Azam as Secretary to the Prime Minister (PM).
According to a notification, Azam, who was working as a 21-grade officer, will now perform his duties at PM House. However, ex-secretary Sohail Amir has been directed to report to establishment division.
It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan was sworn in as 22nd PM of Pakistan during a ceremony at President House.
He swore to “bear true faith and allegiance to Pakistan”, and to “discharge my duties and perform my functions honestly, to the best of my ability… and always in the interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well-being and prosperity of Pakistan.”
As the ceremony concluded, he proceeded to the Prime Minister’s Office, where he was presented a guard of honour.
Khan, 65, was elected the day before in a confidence vote by the National Assembly and is expected to lead a coalition government.
