Mobile health units’ performance reviewed

GUJRAT, JUN 25 (APP/DNA): District Health Officer (Preventive Services) and (DC-IRMNCH) Dr Aitezaz Ahmad reviewed the performance of ‘Clinic on Wheels’ teams during a visit to Sarai Alamgir on the directions of CEO District Health Authority Gujrat, Dr Syed Ata-ul-Munim. He was accompanied by program focal person Amjad Ali.
The initiative, launched under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to provide basic healthcare services at the doorstep of citizens, especially in urban slum areas. Mobile health units are currently operating in underserved areas of Gujrat, Lalamusa, Kharian, Dinga, and Sarai Alamgir.
The services include maternal and child health checkups, immunization, growth monitoring of children under five and pregnant women, family planning counseling, screening for common illnesses, and provision of free medicines on-site. Dr Aitezaz appreciated the performance of the teams and issued instructions to further improve the program’s effectiveness.
