Mazari submits a privilege motion to Speaker NA
ISLAMABAD, 10 JUNE, (DNA) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Shireen Mazari submitted a privilege motion to Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, demanding an apology from PML-N lawmaker Khawaja Asif for using ‘unparliamentarily’ language against her in the National Assembly.
“I wish to submit a privilege motion pertaining to the breach of my privilege as a Member of the N ational Assembly (MNA) when Khwaja Asif used unparliamentarily and personalized abuse of my person in the course of his speech during the budget session on 8 June 2016,” Mazari stated in the letter.
She said: “His (Asif’s) personalized attack on my person was unacceptable and his refusal to apologise further showed his deliberate intent to buse a women parliamentarian by attack her person.”
“I request action be taken against this personal abuse and name-calling by Khwaja Asif. Simply expunging the record is not enough and an apology on the floor of the House is essential,” Mazari added. =DNA
