ISLAMABAD, APR 27 (DNA) – Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Anser Aziz has said that use of latest technology and techniques in construction activities is the need of the hour.

In order to make urban development long lasting and durable, we have to train are architects and town planners in line with modern standards.

Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Anser Aziz said  this while inaugurating three days exhibition of Building materials and Products, Architects work display (IAPEX). The three day event is being organized at Tulip Marquee Islamabad.

The event is being participated by number of manufacturers and suppliers, who will display showcase their products, while various local and international architects from all over the world will highlight changing trends in, architecture, urban development and building material industry

On this occasion, Mayor was informed that IAPex is three days event which is being organized by Institute of Architects Pakistan (IAP).

The exhibition would be concluded on 29th April, 2018. It was informed that IAPex is the most major Architectural event taking place in Pakistan every year which helps Architectural Community grow and gain new heights every year.

Mayor of Islamabad said that Muslims are real custodian of architecture. The master pieces of Muslim era are still speaks about the glory of Muslim era and appreciated by the world.

He said that exhibition will help provide information to the local as well as national developers about variety of materials and construction methodologies.

He said that local developers and town planners can get benefit from the experience and expertise of other experts as it will be a source of information for them.

He further said that this event help gather a diverse group of Architects, vendors, students and general public under one roof and generate interaction between them so this interaction they are able to refresh their knowledge regarding the latest advances in building technology and construction techniques.

Mayor said that recently completed Koral and Sohan interchanges are among the examples amalgamation of techniques, aesthetics and latest technology which resulted in a beautiful addition to the beauty of the Federal capital.

He said that Islamabad is the only city of Pakistan, which was developed in accordance with proper master plan.

He said that MCI has formulated a consolidated plan to ensure true implementation of master plan. He said that in order to restore natural grace of the city, constructions in the outskirts and surroundings of Islamabad are being regulated first time.  He said that enforcement of building by-laws in the city is being ensured.

Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Anser Aziz also visited different stalls including stalls of paint, lighting, marble and another building material. He lauded the efforts management for organizing a successful exhibition.=DNA
