ISLAMABAD, SEPT 17 (DNA) – Mayor of Islamabad, Sheikh Anser Aziz has inaugurated road carpeting work at Blue Area of Islamabad.

On this occasion, representatives of traders union, Director, Machinery Pool Organization (MPO), Umer Sagheer Rana and officers of other relevant formations were present.

On this occasion, Mayor of Islamabad, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) is working on the project of road carpeting in Islamabad on fast pace.

Under this project several small and major roads including 7th Avenue and roads within the sectors have been carpeted.

Mayor Islamabad said that the 04 kilometer long and 52 feet wide service road north along the Jinnah Avenue, 4.5 kilometer long and 36 feet wide service road south of the blue area would also be carpeted in the period of one month.

He directed the Director, MPO ensure carpeting of parking areas of blue area. Mayor of Islamabad said that MCI has revitalized Directorate of MPO and saved huge amount as in the past this work was carried out through external contractors.

Mayor of Islamabad, Sheikh Anser Aziz informed that since 1st March, 2018 MPO Directorate has completed carpeting of 5.5 kilometers roads of sector I-8, 02 kilometer roads of sector I-9, 02 kilometer roads of G series sectors while 7 kilometer roads of F series sectors and 12 kilometer on the both sides of 7th Avenue. He said that project of carpeting of all roads of Islamabad would be completed on the fast pace.=DNA
