Last day for submission of Hajj applications today
LAHORE, JAN 24 (DNA) – The designated banks across the country would continue receiving Hajj applications till working hours (Wednesday) which is last day.
However, the balloting would be held on January 26. More than 3,25,000 applications have been received under government scheme so far.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Imran Siddiqi said that Hajj dues had not been increased this year in order to further facilitate the intending pilgrims.
He said Rs 280,000 would be paid by the intending pilgrims of North region, while Rs 270,000 would be received from the intending pilgrims going to perform Hajj from South Region.
He informed that a total of 179,210 Pakistanis would perform the sacred religious obligation this year, 67 percent will perform Hajj under government scheme and 33 percent under private scheme.
