BATTAGRAM, 05 AUG (DNA) — Adviser to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, on Wednesday inaugurated a newly established family park at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Battagram, aimed at providing a peaceful and comfortable environment for patients’ attendants and visitors.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Member of the National Assembly Prince Muhammad Nawaz Khan Alai, Deputy Commissioner Battagram Muhammad Shoaib Khan, and other government officials. Following the inauguration, the dignitaries toured the park, reviewed the available facilities, identified missing amenities, and directed the authorities concerned to complete and operationalize the remaining facilities at the earliest.

On the occasion, MNA Prince Muhammad Nawaz Khan Alai announced a grant of Rs5 million from his Electoral Development Programme (EDP) fund for the further expansion and improvement of the family park. Addressing the ceremony, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand said the park had been established to provide a calm and pleasant atmosphere for patients’ family members and attendants, enabling them to find comfort while accompanying their loved ones during treatment.

He said the upgradation of DHQ Hospital Battagram had significantly improved healthcare services in the district. He added that advertisements for sanctioned doctors’ positions and other vacant posts would be issued soon, creating employment opportunities for residents and further strengthening the hospital’s capacity.

The adviser expressed confidence that continued improvements at the hospital would ensure the availability of quality healthcare services within Battagram, reducing the need for patients to travel to Islamabad or Peshawar for treatment. He also thanked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Mian Khaliq-ur-Rehman for his support, saying the progress achieved at the hospital was made possible through the minister’s efforts.

Tarand emphasized that DHQ Hospital Battagram was a valuable public asset and urged citizens and officials alike to contribute to its protection, maintenance, and continued development. — DNA
