ABBOTTABAD, Sep 30 (DNA): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Revenue and Estate Tariq Mahmood Aryani said the provincial government was accelerating the digitization of land records to provide citizens with modern, transparent and hassle-free revenue services.

He made the remarks during a surprise visit to the Service Delivery Centre in Abbottabad, where he inspected arrangements for public services and reviewed the digitization of land records and other revenue-related matters.

The minister said a modern system for digitizing land records had been developed in the province and would be inaugurated in Peshawar.

He said shifting the decades-old land record system to a fully digital system was a major and complex process that could take two to three years to completely settle, but efforts were being made to complete it as early as possible.

Under the new system, citizens would be able to obtain land records and fard through Service Delivery Centres, NADRA e-Sahulat Centres, NADRA kiosk centers and around 3,700 e-Sahulat centres, he said.
He said the cashless issuance of fard would improve transparency, convenience and efficiency in revenue services and help eliminate the role of middlemen. Digitization would also reduce unnecessary human intervention and enable citizens to obtain land-related services in an easy, transparent and timely manner.
During the visit, the minister reviewed public complaints and the mechanism for service delivery and called for further improvement in facilities for citizens.

Talking about the political situation, Tariq Mahmood Aryani said the possibility of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa might be a desire, but the provincial government had a public mandate and elected representatives were standing with it.
He said the provincial government was performing its constitutional responsibilities within its mandated tenure. “If they impose governor’s rule, the government will be restored after a month or two,” he said, adding that PTI MPAs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were united.

Regarding the planned long march, the provincial minister said it would be held on October 4, while any change in the date would be part of the party’s strategy.
Commenting on PTI founder Imran Khan, he questioned the continued detention of the former prime minister and said steps should also be taken regarding his health.
