‘Kin of Model Town tragedy victims await justice, protest to resume’

LAHORE, AUG 16 (DNA) – Tahir-ul-Qadri praised his party workers who gathered at Mall Road to express sorrow at the loss of innocent lives in Model Town incident. “We await justice and it is just a matter of time,” he said while promising the people to stay with them until justice prevails.

He thanked PTI leaders, including Firdous Ashiq Awan and Sheikh Rasheed, and other persons who arrived in solidarity. Qadri told PAT workers that he will stay with them and the protest will not halt till justice.

Qadri demanded of making the Justice Baqir Ali Najfi report on Model Town case public. Calling Nawaz Sharif ‘thief in Panama case’ and Shehbaz Sharif ‘murderer in Model Town case’, he said country will not prosper until the nation get rid of these two. He slammed PML-N’s will to introduce constitutional amendments, recalling how the ex-PM used to buy MPAs and MNAs in past, violated the sanctity of public votes and derailed democracy several times.

Slamming Nawaz s hopes of bringing revolution, he said the former premier only remembered revolution after July 28 Supreme Court verdict declaring him ineligible. Qadri said both Sharif brothers will be hanged to give justice to the kins of Model Town incident. He recalled that Articles 62 and 63 were part of his demands during 2014 sit-ins, calling the article essential. Bullets were fired at my home and Punjab CM was declared responsible for Model Town massacre in Justice Baqir Ali Najfi report, he claimed. Qadri said his party will protest in Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and other cities of the country.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief arrived at the Mall Road sit-in staged by his party against the injustice with victims of Model Town Tragedy. PAT workers, including women, arrived at Mall Road after they were allowed by Punjab government to stage protest and sit-in against the injustice after Model Town tragedy. Relatives of those martyred have prepared to protest for an indefinite period. PAT workers also held a rally in Karachi, protesting against the government for their lack of action against murderers.
