Khadija becomes member Parliament

ISLAMABAD: Senior diplomat and Somalia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi has won the election of House of the People of the Somalia parliament.
While talking to this correspondent from Somalia soon after winning he election, Ambassador Khadija said she was happy to have achieved yet another milestone in her career.
She said she had to struggle hard in order to win this election adding she had an earnest desire to serve her people. Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi made her mark as Ambassador of Somalia to Pakistan by virtue of her hard work active diplomatic.
She facilitated a high level delegation from Somalia during the recently held OIC conference in Islamabad. It may be mentioned here that her husband, who happens to be a seasoned politician and has served as the interior minister of Somalia, is vying for the coveted slot of President of Somalia.
The much-delayed Presidential election is now expected to take place in next few months. The lower house and upper house of Parliament elected the new President therefore the once the composition of both houses is completed, election for the president will take place.
The Pakistanis who know Ms. Khadija have congratulated her over this great success and wished her best of luck. She told that she will soon visit Pakistan.
