Karachi Kings beat Quetta Gladiators by 19 runs

DUBAI, FEB 23 (DNA) – : Karachi Kings defeated the Quetta Gladiators by 19 runs in their first match of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League at the Dubai International Stadium.

Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim won the toss and elected to bat first against Quetta Gladiators. Major changes in Karachi Kings’ lineup and switching of hard hitting all-rounder Shahid Afridi from Peshawar Zalmi have given a tremendous boost to the team.

Kings, led by Imad Wasim, are determined to take their team to PSL victory this time in their home turf.

On the flip side, Quetta Gladiators have been the runner-up team twice in both previous editions of the league with a burning desire to clinch the trophy.

Gladiators, captained by Sarfraz Ahmed, have also gone through some changes with induction of former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson and English batsman Jason Roy in their squad.

The consistent Gladiators’ side feature Pakistan U-10 skipper Hassan Khan, emerging speedster Jofra Archer and Afghanistan’s spin sensation Rashid Khan.

This will be the first ever edition featuring six PSL teams instead of five and each side will play each other twice, besides the final of the league will be held in Karachi for the first time on March 25, 2018.
