Karachi City Council meeting adjourned due to LB members’ uproar
KARACHI, OCT 31 (DNA)- Ruckus on Tuesday has forced administration of Karachi City Council’s to adjourn session for an indefinite period as opposition local bodies members tore apart copies of agenda.
While talking to media, opposition leader Akramullah Waqasi accused Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar of considering himself above law and said that opposition was only seeking accountability from him.
Waqasi further narrated that Karachi Mayor is facing corruption allegations and that he (Wasim Akhtar) has proven them right (through his attitude). Waqasi accused MQMP’s leaders of making assets from funds allotted for metropolis’s residents.
MQMP seems to be in hot water after Karachi Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra joined Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party on October 29.
Vohra formally announced the decision in a press conference in Karachi. He was accompanied by Anis Qaimkhani and other PSP members.
