Karachi cardboard factory fire brought under control
KARACHI, SEPT 25 (DNA) – A fire that engulfed a cardboard factory in North Karachi early on Monday, has been brought under control after 11 hours.
The fire took hold of a cardboard factory located near the Shafeeq Morh area of North Karachi in the early hours of Monday, according to reports.
It reportedly took nine fire tenders, two snorkels and two water bowsers, to stop the fire from spreading further and to bring it under control.
Present on the location, Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar said that due to unavailability of proper equipment, firefighters faced a lot of difficulties in carrying out operations to douse the fire.
No loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.
On Sunday, a restaurant situated on the ground floor of a commercial building in Karachi’s Boat Basin area also caught fire which was eventually doused later in the day.
