Justice Asif Khosa never met Imran Khan privately: SC
ISLAMABAD, AUG 01 (DNA) – Supreme Court spokesperson clarified the widespread perception claiming Imran Khan and leader of 5-member Panama case bench Justice Asif Saeed Khosa met privately before the hearings of the case against Sharif family. Such reports were denied and it was stated that the court’s observations were interpreted wrongly.
It was added that Justice Khosa neither met PTI chief privately nor he knows him personally. It is unfortunate to air the November 1 remarks of the senior Supreme Court judge in the form of an interview, the clarification mentioned.
The spokesperson said lawyers and journalists are witnesses of the court’s proceedings on November 1 in which Panama case was finalised for hearing by the larger bench. Justice Khosa was a part of it and said now the Supreme Court is hearing the case and now the parties should remain calm, advising certain opposition parties to review their call for Islamabad lockdown protest, according to SC spokesperson.
Earlier, Imran Khan had also clarified that the judge never talked to him in private and certain media organisation is conspiring against him. During an interview, PTI chairman had recalled Islamabad lockdown scene and Justice Asif Khosa s remarks.
