Japan Foreign Minister acknowledges Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace

RAWAPINDI, JAN 04 (DNA) – Japan’s Foreign Minister, Mr Taro Kono called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.
The visiting dignitary was presented guard of honour and he laid floral wreath at Shuhada monument. The foreign minister was given briefing on Pakistan’s War on Terror and contributions towards regional peace. Japanese Foreign Minister appreciated and acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and stability.
The Foreign Minister said that Japan looks forward to enhance its security cooperation with Pakistan especially in the field of counter terrorism. Foreign Minister also informed about Japanese assistance for rehabilitation of TDPs and provision of scanning equipment for border crossing points.
COAS thanked Foreign Minister for his visit, acknowledgment of Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and assistance in counter terrorism domain.
