Islamabad seek revenge, Multan hopes to make a comeback
DUBAI, (DNA) – After one-day rest, Pakistan Super League is all set to return with a big game tonight at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, between the defending champions Islamabad United and Multan Sultans.
The revenge-hungry Islamabad United be looking to make it three wins in a row, while Multan Sultans who won their lone match of the tournament against United, will look to repeat the feat when they face the Mohammad Sami-led side tonight.
So far in the tournament, Islamabad’s position is quite stable as compared to Multan who are currently at the bottom of the points table having won only one game out of five. Quetta Gladiators are currently ruling the charts with four wins.
Islamabad’s strength lies in their batting line-up but their bowling unit is a formidable one as well. Skipper Sami has shown the value of his experience while young pacer Muhammad Musa caught the eye with four wickets in two appearances.
On the other hand, the Shoaib Malik led-Sultans has failed to make an impact in the tournament so far despite having big names in the squad.
Multan Sultans lost their most recent match to Peshawar Zalmi, where Kieron Pollard crushed any hopes for a Multan win by hitting back to back sixes and turning the game upside down.
The match will start at 9 pm Pakistan Standard Time.
