Iraq Ambassador Dr. Ali Yasin calls on Gen. Janjau
Ambassador of Iraq Dr.Ali Yasin Muhammad Karim made a courtesy visit to the National Security Advisor Lt. General (Retd.) Nasser Khan Janjua this morning. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations between the two countries and the ways to strengthen these ties further. Matters concerning regional security and stability also came under discussion.
The ambassador shared his experiences of working in Pakistan. He acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism. He stressed the importance of cooperation in multiple areas including security, trade and defense.
National Security Advisor said that Iraq is an important Muslim country with rich historical background. The two countries share many common values of Muslim brotherhood and are tied to each other through deep historic, religious and cultural bonds. At the same time both countries are facing the similar challenges. Menace of terrorism has affected both countries and through mutual cooperation much better result can be achieved in the fight against terrorism.
