LAHORE, AUG 2 /DNA/ – Iranian President arrived in Lahore on a significant visit aimed at boosting bilateral ties and regional cooperation. He was warmly received at the Allama Iqbal International Airport by PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, underscoring the importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with Iran.
Soon after his arrival, President visited the mausoleum of national poet Allama Iqbal, where he laid a floral wreath and offered prayers, paying tribute to the visionary who inspired Pakistan’s creation. The visit marks a symbolic gesture of shared cultural and historical values between the two neighboring countries.
During his engagements in Lahore, both sides expressed strong commitment to strengthening economic, trade, and connectivity links. A key highlight of the visit was the mutual agreement to actively participate in the Silk Road Initiative, aimed at revitalizing ancient trade routes for enhanced regional cooperation and economic integration.
President visit is expected to give fresh momentum to Pakistan-Iran ties at a time when regional cooperation is crucial for economic revival and political stability. The trip is seen as part of broader diplomatic efforts to deepen Iran’s engagement with South Asian nations.
