Indonesian delegates attend Int’l exhibtion at Karachi expo center

KARACHI, APR 5 (DNA) -The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Iwan Suyudhie Amri attended the Inauguration ceremony of 16th “My Karachi-Oasis of Harmony” International Exhibition.

 

The Ambassador attended the Exhibition on the invitation of the President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Junaid Esmail Makda who warmly received the Ambassador and the Consul General of Indonesia Totok Prianamto on their arrival at the Expo Centre.

 

The Expo is a regular annual event organized by Karachi Chamber co-hosted by the Sindh government since 2004. The provincial Minister for Local Bodies Sindh, Mr. Saeed Ghani represented the Sindh government on the occasion.

 

Addressing the guests, President KCCI thanked the diplomatic corps for their participation and highlighted the importance of the Expo and the trade potential of Karachi. He especially pointed out the marine tourism that the government is focusing to develop.

 

He further said that the economy has been growing steadily and Pakistan is ready to cooperate with its friends to move forward.

 

Minister Saeed Ghani visited the Indonesian Pavilion where he was warmly welcomed by the Ambassador. The artists from Indonesia presented a wonderful traditional dance performance on the occasion. The Minister appreciated the artistic talent of the dancers.

 

The Indonesian Pavilion showcases a variety of Indonesian products including types of biscuits by PT. Mayora and PT Orang Tua Brands, textiles and palm oil derivative products.

 

Taking the advantage of the presence of Ambassador Iwan in Karachi, the Zainab Rehabilitation Centre for special children also invited him to visit the ZRC on 4th April 2019.

 

The Indonesian Ambassador and Consul General Indonesia in Karachi were accorded warm welcome by Masood Parekh, Founder of ZRC, Director Ms. Mehvish, Yahya Polani, CEO Polani group of companies along with other teaching staff.

 

The Ambassador in his remarks appreciated the services and dedication of ZRC for the noble cause of humanity.

 

He also highlighted the growing bilateral Indonesia-Pakistan ties. He said the bilateral trade volume has reached 3.1 billion, USD from 2.20b USD in 2016 which is significant growth, while Indonesia has recently offered additional 20 tariff lines to Pakistan.

“The two countries are the largest Muslim countries in terms of population and tied with strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood”, he underlined.

The ZRC founder and other guests thanked the Ambassador for the visit and presented souvenirs made by the school children to the Envoy.

 

On the occasion, the Ambassador also presented gifts of Indonesian snacks and stationery items to the children.

 

The Ambassador also visited the classrooms and mingled with the students and appreciated their talent, creative work and academic achievements.=DNA
