Indonesian ambassador, Hasanuddin University discuss ways of improving bilateral ties

MAKASSAR, AUG 07 (DNA) – The Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad, in collaboration with Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in Makassar, South Sulawesi Province, exploring the possibilities to further improve the bilateral relation between Indonesia and Pakistan .
In the FGD, the Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan, Iwan Suyudhie Amri, explained the latest developments of Pakistan, including its relations with neighboring countries as well as the dynamics -opportunities and challenges- of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Pakistan.
The FGD resulted several recommendations to accelerate people to people contact between the two countries such as promoting joint research or seminars, exchanging lecturers and students, establishing and developing language departments (Indonesia-Urdu) at universities of the two countries, and increasing the quota of Pakistani scholarship recipients to study at UNHAS either through the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship or through direct partnership scholarship program with UNHAS.=DNA
