Indigenously production of passenger coaches next year: Sh. Rashid
RAWALPINDI, FEB 08 (DNA) – Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid has said domestic manufacturing of passenger coaches will be started next year.
Addressing the workers of Railway Carriage Factory here on Friday, he said in the next phase, local production of locomotives will also be started.
The Minister said that we have plied twenty new passenger and two freight trains. He said we are also considering launching more trains in the near future to facilitate the commuters.
Sheikh Rashid said efforts are afoot to provide better travelling facilities to the poor segment of society.
The Minister for Railways announced that he has sent a summary to Prime Minister Imran Khan to bring the salaries of railways police at par with Punjab police and upgrade the scales of Railways employees.
On the occasion, Sheikh Rashid also announced three thousand rupees each for the staff of Carriage Factory.
Sheikh Rashid expressed concerns over appointment of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif as the Chairman of Public Accounts Committee. = DNA
