Indian actions affront to global peace, security: AJK presiden

ISLAMABAD, NOV 27 (DNA) – The AJK President Sardar Masood Khan has stressed the Muslims states to play their role to convince the UN Security Council to, in view of India’s unwillingness to peacefully resolve the Kashmir issue through negotiations, use its mandatory and legal right, and find a solution to the long outstanding Kashmir conflict.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said that he had made this appeal in his speeches at the two-day international conference on Kashmir and other functions besides meetings with the Muslim leadership during his recent visit to Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
The two-day conference titled Kashmir Turmoil: Emerging Threats to Peace and Role of International Community was organized in Ankara jointly by Lahore Center for Peace & Research and the Turkish Institute of Strategic Thinking, and attended by delegates from OIC member states including Indonesia, Egypt and Iran.
The AJK president said that the conference discussed legal, political and security aspects of Kashmir issue in the context of human rights and humanity.
He said that he appealed to the international community and the participants of the conference to secure an end to ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri people, and pressure should so mounted on India that it is compelled to reverse its unlawful actions of August 5 and October 31.
He said that the Muslim states should convince the UN Human Rights Council to probe through an inquiry commission the human rights violations being committee in occupied Kashmir.
Besides an appeal should be made to the UN Security Council to summon its emergency session, and save the Kashmiri people being massacred at the hands of Indian forces, and to avert the looming danger of war in the region. This war, he was, may be prelude to a nuclear clash.
The AJK president described growing wave of Hindutva in India an affront to not only Kashmiri Muslims but also the human beings of Pakistan, South Asia and the entire world.
Sardar Masood Khan on behalf of the people and the government of Jammu and Kashmir appreciated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for boldly support the Kashmir cause.
The participants rejected the false Indian claims that the situation in Kashmir is returning to normal, and called upon the international community to give up the policy of appeasing India, and take decisive steps. They also expressed concern violence against Muslims in India.
In the second leg of his visit, the AJK president traveled to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. During meeting with OIC Secretary General Yusuf Bin Ahmed Al Uthaymeen, he apprised him on the latest situation of Kashmir as well as the Indian designs to change demography of the state.
He also thanked the OIC Kashmir Contact Group for unanimously adopting a resolution to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people, and appealed to the OIC to mount pressure on India to cease repression in Kashmir and grant right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.=DNA
