India politicizing FATF: FM
Islamabad : Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Financial Action Task Force is a technical forum but India is politicizing it to keep sword of grey list hanging over Pakistan.
Speaking at a news conference in Multan, he said FATF authorities hailed Pakistan’s commitment to implement 26 recommendations and the country is also moving forward towards the last recommendation.
Responding to a question, the Foreign Minister said the PTI government took many steps and implemented FATF’s recommendations on anti-money laundering and terror financing.
To another question about withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, he said peaceful Afghanistan is in the interest of the region.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in case of civil war, Afghanistan would be more affected country and after it, Pakistan would suffer.
He said that Pakistan rendered many sacrifices against terrorism and it does not want the menace of terrorism surface again.
